Mercedes Mone, formerly known as Sasha Banks, made her AEW debut at AEW Dynamite: Big Business, as she officially signed with the company and made it clear that it was the place that she needed to be.

Speaking with Marc Raimondi of ESPN, Mercedes Mone discussed signing with AEW. She noted that Tony Khan “really spoke to my heart”, and it helped that the company made a significant financial offer.

“I mean, I’m not Mercedes Moné for no reason,” Mone said with a smirk. “Money changes everything. I’m always about that bag. Absolutely.”

Mone also commented on having freedom in AEW, as she noted that she will be able to do so much more in the company. She stated that the company was the place for her to be, as she wanted to do everything. Mone reiterated that AEW is the place that she called home now.

“You can do so much more in AEW — you can do everything. For me, I want to do everything. So, this is the place for me to be, and this is the place that I call home,” Mone said.

Mone was present at AEW All In, and she stated that while she was not signed at the time, witnessing such a historic moment drew her to the company. She emphasized that she wants to create history and magic, and AEW offers her a chance to stand out.

“I’m all about creating history. I’m all about creating magic, and I’m all about creating so much more. That’s what AEW brings — so much more, more opportunity, more chances and more chances just to stand out and to be seen and noticed,” Mone said.

Keven Undergaro recently said that WWE made Mone a generous offer, but she went with her gut.
