Jim Ross: Lee Fitting Has Done A Good Job With WWE’s Presentation, It’s Less ‘Haha’
Jim Ross comments on the new production of WWE.
WWE underwent a production change as the calendar turned from 2023 to 2024 with longtime director and producer Kevin Dunn stepping away and Lee Fitting, formerly of ESPN, being named as the new Head of Media & Production.
Fans have noticed some aesthetic changes to WWE production that follow Fitting’s model from ESPN and College Gameday.
On Grilling JR, Jim Ross was asked if he thinks WWE shows feel different with Fitting.
“I think so. They seem to be less ‘haha,’ as Patterson [Pat Patterson] would say, and more serious presentation. I think fans respond to that better because you’re not trying to drill them with so much weak storyline. Storylines based in reality, people can relate to that a lot easier than pure fiction that is sensationalistic and people can’t totally invest in. I’m not familiar with this gentlemen, but if he’s the one responsible, he’s done a good job because you can tell it’s a little different, and one that I enjoy, quite frankly,” he said.
Ross is currently signed to AEW, and agreed to a new one-year deal in February.
