Swerve Strickland Questions Why Adam Page Tapped Out At AEW Revolution, ‘Is It Spiteful Towards Me?’
Swerve Strickland isn’t out of the championship race yet.
At AEW Revolution, Strickland failed to capture the AEW World Championship, as ‘Hangman’ Adam Page submitted to Samoa Joe’s signature sleeperhold, allowing the ‘King Of Television’ to retain his world title. Strickland was visibly upset by this, as Page technically prevented him from winning the belt.
Ahead of Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite, Swerve Strickland sat down with 11Alive for an interview. In the chat, Strickland talked about the finish to the Revolution match and presented the idea that Page tapped out just to be spiteful towards him.
“For me, I’ve never known Hangman Page to be a guy that gives up, ever, since AEW started five years ago. I can’t think of any time he’s actually ever submitted or tapped out willingly. There’s a lot of questions I have on the method of why it is this a new type of Hangman that he does just quit, or is it spiteful towards me? I have my speculations. Maybe those questions will be answered on Wednesday. I’m not out of the race as being an AEW World Champion.”
