Roman Reigns needed one thing from The Rock, and he gave it to him.
The Rock issued a major challenge on the March 1 episode of WWE SmackDown. After he turned down Cody Rhodes’ challenge to a singles match, The Rock instead threw down the gauntlet for a tag team match where he and Roman Reigns would face Rhodes and Seth Rollins on the opening night of WrestleMania 40. The Rock went to do his “If Ya Smell” catchphrase, but Reigns stopped him.
Tensions rose, as The Rock was clearly caught off-guard by Reigns’ defiance. Reigns said he would do anything for his family, but he needed one thing from The Rock. He said he needed The Rock to acknowledge him. The Rock hesitated, but he told Reigns that he acknowledged him as his Tribal Chief. They then embraced.

Reigns and The Rock then teamed up for the “If Ya Smell” catchphrase, as it was clear that they were on the same page again.
The Rock previously aligned with Reigns and The Bloodline at the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff press conference. Reigns subsequently said that he joined The Bloodline, but The Rock had not properly acknowledged The Tribal Chief.
