Kazuchika Okada: I’m Leaving NJPW With The Intention Of Never Coming Back

Kazuchika Okada doesn’t intend to return to NJPW.

Kazuchika Okada wrestled his final NJPW match at night two of NJPW New Beginning in Sapporo on February 24, competing in a multi-man bout and coming away with the victory by pinning Callum Newman.

After Tetsuya Naito successfully defended his IWGP World Heavyweight Title in the main event against SANADA, he was joined in the ring by Okada, and the two longtime rivals shared a moment in front of the crowd.

Speaking to Tokyo Sports, Okada was asked if they might rematch in the main event of a Tokyo Dome show.

“I’m already looking ahead to what’s next, and I’m going out with the intention of never coming back to New Japan. I’m sorry about that, but I don’t think so. Of course, I want to treasure the feeling and the words I received,” Okada said.

Okada’s contract with NJPW expired at the end of January, but he fulfilled his previously advertised dates in February.
