Lio Rush Reflects On His OTT Debut: The Energy Was Incredible
Lio Rush reflects on his first appearance in OTT.
Lio Rush reflects on his previous appearance in Over The Top Wrestling.
Lio Rush is currently scheduled to make his return to the Irish promotion on March 2nd at Gaff Party Night 2, where he will go one on one with Scotty Davis. However, this is not his debut with OTT, as he was previously part of one of their biggest events in 2017, as he teamed with Ryan Smile and Will Ospreay to take on The Elite at ScrapperMania 2017.
While speaking to Irish Wrestling And Entertainment’s Gerry Rushe, Lio looked back on his debut with the promotion.
“I remember OTT was like a dream honestly, because I didn’t have it really in my plans. This was something that happened last minute. I remember getting a phone call saying, ‘are you free?’ I was in America. They ended up booking me a flight. I flew out within two days. I ended up teaming with Will and Smile and just having a blast. I remember just looking out and seeing just a sea of people. It was so many people there. The energy was incredible. We wrestled the Elite that night, Kenny Omega. I was a 21-year-old hot prospect that a lot of people got to hear about. But this was my first time being in Ireland and being there for OTT, and the energy was just incredible.”
As noted, Lio is set to face off with Scotty Davis at OTT Gaff Party Night 2 in his first appearance in the promotion since 2017.
In another recent interview, Rush noted that he wants to remind people he is one of the best wrestlers in the world. You can read more about that here.
