Leyton Buzzard: I Have A Lot Of Unfinished Business In OTT, RevPro And Japan
Leyton Buzzard comments on possibly joining WWE.
Leyton Buzzard has some unfinished business across Britain, Ireland and Japan.
Buzzard recently returned to Europe after a lengthy excursion in Japan, returning to both RevPro and Over The Top Wrestling in Britain and Ireland respectively. Leyton has also featured on several wXw cards, and continues to grow his presence on the British independent scene.
While speaking to Fightful’s Corey Brennan in a recent interview, Buzzard was asked about possibly joining NXT Europe when the brand starts up. Leyton noted that while he was interested, he still has unfinished business across the wrestling world.
“I feel like for now, for me personally, I’ve definitely got some unfinished business in Japan. I think I’m going to be sticking around in Europe and the UK this year. Because like I said, I’ve got a lot of unfinished business in OTT as well. I’ve never wrestled at the stadium. Last year I had to miss out on ScrapperMania cause I was in Canada and then I had to miss out on a anniversary show cause I was in Japan. So I never got to wrestle at the stadium and I never got to wrestle for an OTT championship, although I came very close. So I’ve got a lot of unfinished business in OTT, a lot of unfinished business in RevPro that I’m going to be focusing on this year, but I’ve also got a lot of unfinished business in Japan. That’s still sort of on my mind at the moment. Definitely going back to Japan and finishing what I started there. But I’d be lying if I didn’t say that my dream is to go to WWE. I watched WWE since I was five years old. Watching Rey Mysterio and John Cena made me fall in love with wrestling. So yeah, I’d be lying if I wasn’t saying that my goal is to eventually wrestle for WWE. But just at the moment, my mind’s very still watching Japan. I’ve still got a lot of things that I want to accomplish over there. I’ve still got a lot of things I want to do. It’s definitely somewhere that I want to I want to go back to. I’m only 26. I’ve got plenty of time. Japan is going to be what I’m trying to do. But like I said, for sure. It’s 100 percent something I’m interested in. I’m not just interested in doing interest in seeing as well. You know, I think it’s going to be super exciting. to see, you know, if and when it does come around, to see the guys they’re going to be using, to see who’s going to step up, to see, like, what the live show system’s like.
Are they going to be running all around Europe? I don’t know. But I know that there’s a lot of great companies in the UK and Europe which have great fan bases and I don’t think that’s changing. I think we’re in a great spot where we went through some tough times in European wrestling, post-COVID. But I feel like now it’s in such a better position because of the guys stepping up, because of guys giving everything they have to this business. I think whether or not NXT Europe comes anytime soon or not, I think that all these companies like OTT and RevPro and WXW, they’re in a good position. They’ve got great fan bases. They’ve got great wrestlers and I don’t think that’s going to change. So I think it’s an exciting time. It’s definitely something I’ve got on my radar and something that I’m looking at for the future. But at the moment, yeah, my priorities align with the European scene, with OTT, with RevPro, and then getting back to Japan as well.”
