Watch Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn’s Non-Canon House Show Moment For The Ages
There's an old saying in WWE that what happens at a house show isn't canon. What happens at the Armory in Dubuque, Iowa has no bearing on what we'll see two days later on RAW.
Or in this case, what happened last night in Montreal means nothing in the greater scheme of things on Tuesday nights on SmackDown.
But man, oh man. What if it did?
Here's the set-up.
Sami Zayn got a shot at Jinder Mahal's WWE Title last night in his hometown of Montreal. Jinder being Jinder, he got the Singh brothers, one of whom was still in a sling from having been dropped off the top of the Punjabi prison match two weeks ago, to interfere, costing Sami any chance he had at the belt.
A post-match beatdown ensued, as well as threats levied by Jinder & Co. at Pat Patterson, who was ringside.
Before any Jinder-on-geriatric violence could happen, the familiar strains of Kevin Owens' theme were heard and then …
Well, just see for yourself:
Wow, indeed.
(Side Note: How is it that the Singh In A Sling is the one that takes the brunt of all that righteous aggression? His brother got off easy there, as is usually the case. Anyway.)
Now, picture if you will, that exact scene playing out at the end of an episode of SmackDown, or dare I say it, a Pay-Per-View.
It would be one of the greatest moments of this generation of WWE.
But it took place at a house show, so it doesn't count. Never really happened. Nothing to see here, move along.
