CM Punk: Bayley Is Very Much In The Main Event Mix; She Won The Rumble, Put Some Respect On Her Name

CM Punk wants to make sure that he lets it be known that Bayley also belongs in the main event mix at WrestleMania.

Much like Cody Rhodes, Bayley also won a Royal Rumble in 2024 to punch her ticket to a guaranteed championship match at WrestleMania. Unlike Cody Rhodes, there was no indecision from Bayley in regards to who she will be facing at WrestleMania. On the February 2 episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Bayley made it clear that she would be facing IYO SKY at WrestleMania, leading to the subsequent split of Damage CTRL.

Despite all of this, Bayley was not featured at the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff press conference in Las Vegas.

CM Punk, who was a panelist at the press conference and is currently nursing a triceps injury, took to Instagram after the event to say that he was personally too swept up in the drama between Cody Rhodes, The Rock, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns to be able to talk about Bayley as much as he wanted to but he did make sure to take the time to put some respect on her name.

“I feel the need to, as a broadcast journalist, express the fact that I really wanted to talk about Bayley and how she won the Royal Rumble for the women. She wasn’t represented on the poster, I felt like she needed a presence there. I got caught up talking about The Rock and Reigns and Cody and Seth, and all that, but very much in the main event mix is Bayley. She won the Rumble, don’t forget it. Put some respect on her name,” Punk said on his Instagram story.

Bayley and CM Punk are very close. In the past, she has been quoted as saying that he gives the best hugs.

Also, prior to Bayley’s excommunication from Damage CTRL, CM Punk had claimed that he applied to join the group. Perhaps Bayley could have used a friend ahead of the split.
