Bayley Chooses To Face IYO SKY For WWE Women’s Title At WrestleMania 40

Bayley makes her choice.

On the February 2 episode of WWE SmackDown, Bayley announced she would be challenging IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 40.

Bayley explained how Damage CTRL (IYO SKY, Dakota Kai, Asuka, & Kairi Sane) were like family, which prompted laughs from IYO, Kairi, & Asuka, as she pondered choosing to face WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley. She continued, saying she could go in a different direction and go against people who she thought stood with her.

She asked the trio if they were done laughing and the spoke Japanese, saying she picked it up from all the times they talked behind her back. She then wondered what happened, saying IYO changed once Kairi & Asuka joined the group.

The Kabuki Warriors attacked Bayley, but she was able to grab a lead pipe from under the ring to fend them off. She then made her decision to face IYO Sky at WrestleMania 40.

Before everyone came to the ring, there was a backstage where IYO was talking to Asuka and Kairi where IYO stated that “Bayley is done.” Bayley was seen overhearing the conversation.

Bayley earned the right to choose her WrestleMania opponent by winning the women’s Royal Rumble. She entered at number three and set a record for the longest time in the women’s Royal Rumble.

Bayley formed Damage CTRL with IYO SKY & Dakota Kai at SummerSlam 2022.
