Tony Deppen likes getting to showcase his skills beyond just being a wrestler in MLW.
Tony Deppen is one of the top wrestlers on the independent scene, and he is also a former ROH World Television Champion. He has been working with MLW recently, and he is set to compete at the TV taping portion of MLW SuperFight on February 3.
In an interview with WrestleZone’s Bill Pritchard, Tony Deppen was asked about getting the chance to have more of a storyline and do more character work in MLW.
“I really enjoy it because it shows that MLW and Court, they have some form of faith in me to push me into some type of angle instead of just saying, ‘Hey, here’s Tony Deppen, the wrestler.& Because I’m gonna be realistic, there are so many guys out there, like, ‘Hey, I’m just a wrestler, and that’s about it.’ You can only go so far when you’re just a wrestler. But when you give me the opportunity to showcase more than that, whether it’s being slimy or if I can work on promos or something, it helps develop me and push me forward too,” Deppen said.
Davey Boy Smith Jr. recently appeared on Fightful’s In The Weeds to discuss his return to MLW.
Fightful will have coverage of MLW SuperFight as it airs on February 3.
Deppen is also set to compete in the Jersey J-Cup on February 9.
