Noted wrestling fan Larry David shocked the wrestling world and beyond when he attacked Elmo on the Today Show, as the beloved Sesame Street character was checking in on everyone and their mental health.
Speaking on Late Night with Seth Myers, Larry David was asked about the vicious attack.
“I don’t know. I don’t want to talk about it. Yeah, yeah, I did it. Elmo was talking, I was waiting to be interviewed, and Elmo was [in Elmo voice] he was going on about mental health, and I had to listen to every word, and I was going, ‘Oh my god, oh my god. I don’t think I can take another second of this,’ and so I got off my chair, and I approached him, and I throttled him! I couldn’t take it. You know what? I would do it again,” David said.
Hopefully, for Elmo’s sake, he won’t cross paths with Larry David again anytime soon.
David later apologized for his actions, and Elmo apparently forgave him.
