Grizzled Young Veterans Leads ABC In Best Of 3 Series, Nyla Rose Targets Billie Starkz | TNA x ROH Fight Size

Here is your fight size update following TNA iMPACT! on AXS TV and ROH Wrestling on HonorClub for Thursday, February 1, 2024. 

Below are highlights from both Thursday night wrestling shows.

TNA iMPACT!

– In the main event of the February 1 episode of iMPACT! Grizzled Young Vets (James Drake & Zack Gibson) defeated Bullet Club’s Ace & Bey Connection (Ace Austin & Chris Bey) in the first of three potential matches in a Best-of-Three series. Should Gibson and Drake win the future second match, they will be declared the new TNA Wrestling World Tag Team Champions.

– The February 1 episode also featured highlights of Jordynne Grace’s shocking appearance in the WWE Royal Rumble. 

– Mustafa Ali appeared in a vignette, setting his sights on Chris Sabin and the TNA X-Division Championship.

– Frankie Kazarian explains why he turned on Eric Young several weeks ago. Kazarian explained that he had always been a loyal soldier of TNA. Now, he wants to be the face of the brand even if it means losing a few friends. 

– AJ Francis once again ran into Rich Swann on February 1. 

– The Design is dead, according to Kon. Deaner would later be defeated by PCO. After that match, Kon reemerged and twisted the neck of his former Design stablemate and also attacked PCO. 

– Nic Nemeth continued his winning ways on February 1, defeating Trey Miguel. After the match, however, he was attacked by Steve Maclin and The Rascalz, Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz. 

– Backstage, Steve Maclin and The Rascalz were confronted by “Speedball” Mike Bailey.

– TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions DECAY (Rosemary & Havok) picked up a victory on February 1, defeating Mila Moore & Savannah Thorne. 

– Masha Slamovich defeated Jody Threat on February 1. MK Ultra (Killer Kelly & Masha Slamovich) are hoping for a TNA Knockout Tag Team Championship rematch against DECAY for TNA No Surrender 2024. 

– While that match has not been made official, two championship matches are made official for No Surrender. 

– Bryan Myers defeated Kevin Knight in singles action. Later in the show, The System (Moose, Brian Myers, Alisha Edwards & Eddie Edwards) attacked KUSHIDA backstage before Alex Shelley ran them off.

– Josh Alexander, on February 1, was the inaugural guest on  “Sound Check” hosted by Alan Angels. 

– Ash by Elegance’s TNA debut continues to be teased.

Ring of Honor 

– On Twitter, ROH Women’s World Champion Athena reacted to being voted Fightful’s women’s wrestler of the year, noting that it was her first award in wrestling.

–  Lee Johnson came away as the victor in a Four Corners Survival of the Fittest Match, defeating Jack Cartwheel, Alex Zayne, and Blake Christian.

– In women’s Survival of the Fittest action, Red Velvet stood tall. She defeated Kiera Hogan, Diamante, and Trish Adora.

– The Undisputed Kingdom’s Matt Taven & Mike Bennett defeated Fred Rosser & Tom Lawlor in an ROH World Tag Team Championship Proving Ground Match.

– Queen Aminata, SAP (Angelico & Serpentico), The Righteous (Dutch & Vincent), Bad Dude Tito, Iron Savages (Jacked Jameson, Boulder & Bronson), and more picked up big wins on February 1.

– Billie Starkz and Nyla Rose also picked up wins. Plus, Rose went looking for Starkz, wanting to prove that she herself is chaos.

– Set for next week, a “friend of Dalton Castle” takes on Johnny TV.

– Rachel Ellering, Leyla Hirsch, and Red Velvet still have their sights set on the ROH Women’s Television Championship.

– Ethan Page defeated Slim J. He also discussed his desire to become the ROH World TV Champion.
