AEW Dynamite (1/31/24) Results: Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, Swerve Strickland, And More Compete

AEW hosted its latest episode of AEW Dynamite on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, live from the UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, LA.

This week’s episode features Adam Page taking on Toa Liona. Plus, Chris Jericho will take on Kyle Fletcher. Also, Jeff Hardy takes on Jon Moxley, and Toni Storm sits in on commentary as Deonna Purrazzo does battle with Taya Valkyrie.

All this and more will go down on AEW Dynamite.

AEW Dynamite (1/31/24) Results

* Jon Moxley def. Jeff Hardy

– After the match, Jon Moxley offered to shake Jeff Hardy’s hand. As has been the case recently, Hardy refused. After this, the group of CMLL wrestlers in the front row hit the ring and attacked John Moxley. They had briefly had a confrontation earlier in the night. 2point0, Matt Sydal, and Christopher Daniels would run out to make the save. 

* Dealer’s Choice: Adam Page def. Toa Liona

– Nicholas and Matthew Jackson arrive at the venue in a stretch limousine. They fined a stage hand for not addressing them properly. 

* Wardlow def. Komander 

– After the match, Roderick Strong wants to do further damage to Komander. Orange Cassidy shows up and the heels powder out.

– Sting & Darby Allin had a sit-down interview with Ricky Starks & Big Bill which was moderated by Tony Schiavone. They hyped the AEW World Tag Team Championship match next week. 

* Chris Jericho def. Kyle Fletcher

 – Konosuke Takeshita confronts Jericho.

 – There’s a random segment with the Bang Bang Scissor Gang where everybody Hypes everybody up and they get the crowd excited. The segment served no real purpose as it pertains to this show. 

* Deonna Purrazzo def. Taya Valkyrie

– Renee Paquette interviews Darby Allin. She asks him about his admiration for Matthew and Nicholas Jackson. It is of course revealed that the Jacksons fed her that line. Darby tells them he’s more concerned about the AEW Tag Team Championship. 

– Swerve Strickland’s opponent is revealed to be Rob Van Dam. Adam Page further reveals that this will be a hardcore match. 

* Hardcore Match: Swerve Strickland def. Rob Van Dam 

– After the match, Hangman confronts Strickland and they agree to wrestle each other one more time. They will fight next week with the winner challenging Samoa Joe for the World Championship at Revolution.
