Trick Williams has become a breakout star in recent months, as he has had a successful singles run on NXT. He and Carmelo Hayes are also thriving as a tag team, as they have made it to the semi-finals of the Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Hayes has been making regular appearances on WWE SmackDown over the past few weeks, and Williams joined him on the January 26 episode, as he saved the former champion from Grayson Waller and Austin Theory.
Speaking with Lucha Libre Online, Trick Williams was asked whether his appearance on SmackDown was a one-off or if fans could expect to see more of him on the blue brand going forward.
“The ‘Whoop That Trick’ movement has begun. So we gotta wait and see. You never know. NXT Championship, Dusty Classic on Tuesday, me and my boy ‘Melo getting the work. We got a lot of good things in store,” Williams said.
As Williams noted, he and Carmelo Hayes will face the LWO (Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro) in the semifinals of the Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic on the January 30 episode of WWE NXT. At NXT Vengeance Day, Williams is set to challenge Ilja Dragunov for the NXT Championship.
