Bayley Names Candice LeRae, Sara Del Rey, & The Canadian Ninjas As Her Early Career Influences

Bayley names a few stars that inspired her early on in her career.

At this point in her career, Bayley is a fifteen year veteran in the world of wrestling. The majority of that time has been spent in WWE, where she has won countless amounts of championships and big matches.

Before arriving in WWE, Bayley, under the name Davina Rose, spent a number of years on the independent scene, wrestling in promotions like SHIMMER and Big Time Wrestling.

While speaking to the Under The Ring podcast for a new interview, Bayley was asked to name a few people that were influences to her early on in her career.

“I would say Candice LeRae, she was the only California girl at that time, so I remember seeing her and just being like, ‘Man, if I can wrestle her and get over to Southern California, that would be really cool and I could learn a lot.’ Sara Del Ray was a big one. When I first started watching SHIMMER DVDs, it was the Canadian Ninjas who were so awesome. I loved their character stuff, I loved their timing in the ring, and I just loved their personalities and everything. It’s Portia Perez & Nicole Matthews.”

LeRae and Bayley have shared a ring in WWE on a number of occasions in recent years, mainly in multi-person matches. Furthermore, Sara Del Ray and Portia Perez are now retired, but Nicole Matthews is still active on the independent scene to this day.

Many fans are predicting Bayley to win the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble. Fans can see an updated entrant list for that bout by clicking here.
