Pete Dunne Posts Video Showing His Decision To Drop The Name ‘Butch’
On the January 19 episode of WWE SmackDown, Pete Dunne officially dropped the “Butch” moniker and returned to being Pete Dunne.
Dunne, who has success in NXT UK and NXT, saw his name changed to Butch when he joined the WWE main roster in March 2022.
Tyler Bate, who made his main roster debut on the January 5 episode of WWE SmackDown as Dunne’s tag team partner, implored Dunne to find himself, leading to the return of Dunne.
On social media, Dunne posted a video of the moment where he decided Butch was finished.

Dunne & Bate were victorious on the January 19 episode of WWE SmackDown, defeating Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson & Elton Prince).
