Jinder Mahal has been thrust back into the spotlight in the first few weeks of 2024. The former WWE Champion returned at WWE Raw Day One, where he was memorably confronted and mocked by The Rock. Mahal made another eye-opening appearance the following week, as he interrupted WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and challenged him to a title match.

Mahal headlined the January 15 episode of WWE Raw, as he challenged Rollins for the title in the main event. Ahead of the show, there were rumors that the company brought in extra pyro for Raw. After Rollins defeated Mahal to retain the title, Mahal took to Twitter/X to comment on his loss.

Mahal referenced the rumors by writing, “So much for sending that extra Pyro for my Punjabi Celebration.”

Mahal has been the center of plenty of discourse in the wrestling world for the past week, as AEW CEO Tony Khan highlighted the double standard of fans complaining about HOOK challenging AEW World Champion Samoa Joe and not being upset about Mahal’s title shot.
