Wheeler Yuta discusses what it would mean for him to capture the FTW Championship at AEW Worlds End.
Yuta has had to prove himself time and time again as part of the Blackpool Combat Club, and has risen to the occasion several times and has captured the Ring Of Honor PURE Championship several times. He also currently holds the title, but is looking to add a championship to his other shoulder.
At AEW Worlds End: Zero Hour later on tonight, Yuta will look to take the FTW Championship from HOOK in Long Island in an FTW rules matchup. While Yuta was speaking to WrestleZone, the topic of the FTW title came up, with the PURE Champion explaining that it would be very special to capture the title.
“I think that it would be really special to have that FTW Championship. Obviously, Philadelphia has such a rich history with ECW. Taz knows about it better than anyone. I’m sure HOOK is well aware also. But even more than that, it’ll be very special to me as someone who lives in Philadelphia to beat HOOK in Long Island, where the Islanders used to play. That would be really cool for me. So I’m very excited for that, very excited to prove that not only can I do the pure wrestling thing. Obviously, I’m a three-time Pure Wrestling Champion. But I also won in Anarchy in the Arena. I also have had Stadium Stampede matches. I’ve won in Blood & Guts. I’ve been able to do this. I’ve been able to get down and get dirty, and I think that’s what’s gonna happen on Saturday.”
Yuta and HOOK have been at each other’s throats for quite some time now, as tension grew between the two men as Jon Moxley and Orange Cassidy feuded over the AEW International Championship.
On Friday, Bryan Danielson asked fans how the BCC should discipline Yuta should he lose to HOOK at Worlds End. You can read more here.
