Below are highlights from both Thursday night wrestling shows.
IMPACT Wrestling
– The December 28 episode of IMPACT on AXS was a recap show and awards were also given out for the best of the best in 2023.
– The recap portion of the evening kicked off with a look back at Alex Shelly defeating Nick Aldis to successfully defend his IMPACT World Championship at IMPACT Slammiversary.
– Following this, the award of 2023 Male Wrestler of the Year was revealed to have been given to Alex Shelley.

– That was followed up with a look back at another match from the 2023 Slamiversary event, the match that saw SUBCULTURE (Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan Webster) capture the IMPACT World Tag Team Championship.
– The recap continued with highlights of Chris Sabin defeating KENTA to successfully defend the X-Division Title at IMPACT Bound For Glory 2023.
– This was followed up by the revelation that Mike Bailey was voted X-Division Star of the Year. The first of two awards he would win on December 28.

– The IMPACT Bound For Glory recap continued with footage of Alex Shelley successfully retaining the IMPACT World Title over Josh Alexander.

– Following that match on the actual pay-per-view, it was announced that TNA Wrestling would be coming back in 2024. That moment was voted on as the Moment of the Year by the fans of IMPACT.
– Trinity’s victory over Mickie James from Bound For Glory was then shown.

– Billie Starkz made her intentions clear on December 28. She plans on becoming the inaugural Ring of Honor Women’s World TV Champion. Later in the show, she earned a victory over Vertvixen. Following her victory, Starkz launched a post-match attack that would make Athena proud.

– Ethan Page continued his winning ways in the main event of Ring of Honor TV on December 28 with a victory over Johnny TV thanks to a distraction by Dalton Castle.

– In women’s Trios action, Taya Valkyrie & The Renegades (Charlette Renegade & Robyn Renegade) defeated Kiera Hogan, Lady Frost & Trish Adora
– Ross & Marshall Von Erich returned to Ring of Honor on December 28. They would team with Bryan Keith to get a victory over Iron Savages (Boulder, Bronson, & Jacked Jameson).
-Tony Nese and Nyla Rose got back to the path back to winning ways with strong wins.
– Zak Knight, brother of Saraya, picked up an impressive win over Peter Avalon in his ROH return.
