Calvin Tankman Says That Winning The DPW World Championship Was ‘A Culmination Of A Lot Of Work’

Calvin Tankman comments on capturing the DEADLOCK Pro World Championship.

Tankman was able to capture the championship at the promotion’s recent event on December 10, defeating Colby Corino in a bout for the vacant title. Tankman is considered to be a DEADLOCK original, as he has been competing for the promotion since it started back in 2021.

While speaking to MuscleManMalcolm for a new interview, Tankman commented on winning the title and noted that he is not the standard of DEADLOCK.

“A culmination of a lot of work, man. I’ve been there since day one, I’d like to think of myself as one of the stars, the fans call me the gatekeeper. But now the gatekeeper has become the standard. I think it’s been that way for a while, I just needed to go through with it.”

“It’s always a shock.” Tankman said when asked what it felt like when the three count happened. “Not shock as in I didn’t think I could do it, but as a wrestler, you’re always thinking, ‘If they kick out of this, I’ll go to this next.’ When the three count happens, it’s like, oh wait, they didn’t kick out of this one? [laughs] Then the explosion of emotion hits after it sets in.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Tankman said that he’d sign another contract in wrestling if the money was right. Fans can learn more here.
