Bob Bennett says There’s Going To Be No Prejudice In Selecting McGregor vs. Mayweather Officials

Bob Bennett is the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) Executive Director and he is going to be overseeing the super fight between UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather.

When it comes to selecting the officials that are going to be overseeing the super fight, there is going to be no prejudice shown against McGregor.

“There’s no prejudice,” Bennett told MMA Junkie. “There’s no bias. They agreed to box, and they’ll fight like any other boxing match. As long as you follow the rules, then your chances are predicated on your actions in the ring. We’re in the middle. We’re here here strictly to regulate the event. That’s what we do for every fight. Nobody has an edge. There’s no favoritism here. They’re two phenomenal athletes. It should be a very, very interesting event, and we’ll see what happens in the ring.”

Bennett has overseen countless boxing and other combat sporting events during his time with the NSAC.

Bennett also states that if McGregor disagrees with a choice he has made with the officials, all the Irishman has to do is speak with him.

“If you want somebody pulled, you have to let me know why,” Bennett said. “And it has to prove to be true. And if it is, then I’ll pull them. If it’s not, I won’t.”

Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather takes place on Saturday, August 26 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
