Airica Demia: I’m Trying To Interact With The Crowd More During Matches, You Need To Entertain Everyone

Airica Demia is improving very quickly.

Demia is one of the fastest rising stars on the independent scene, as the young star is quickly making a name for in promotions like CZW, New South, and the NWA.

Demia was recently in town for WrestleCade weekend in November, which took place in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Fightful conducted an interview with Demia, where she spoke about how she was at WrestleCade two years ago.

“Honestly, it’s wild. I came to WrestleCade once and it was two years ago. I met a few people and they remembered who I am, which is wild to me, too. I’m gonna be honest. I have terrible anxiety and my brain is really mean to me. My brain has been telling me this entire weekend, ‘You don’t deserve to be here.’ Then my dad and my friends are like, ‘No, Airica, you’ve been training for four years. Shut your mouth.’”

Demia then talked about how she’s trying to get better about interacting with the crowd during matches.

“I don’t want to say I pretend they don’t exist, ‘cause I’m trying to get better about interacting with the crowd during the matches. ‘Cause you want people to buy merch. You need to entertain everybody. So I don’t want to say I pretend they don’t exist, but I try to pretend that they’re my friends. Because if I pretend that they’re my friends then I feel less pressure. But I also feel more pressure. I feel more pressure to do better, but less pressure to mess-up, if that makes sense.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Demia reflected on her father’s support throughout her career. Fans can learn more here.
