On November 19, the New York Jets faced the Buffalo Bills in a heated rivalry game. Tensions rose throughout the contest, and at one point, Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner stopped Bills receiver Stefon Diggs by dropping him with a German suplex. Gardner was penalized for the move, as it came after the whistle. Despite his best impression of Brock Lesnar, the Jets as a whole were far from dominant, as Buffalo won the game by a final score of 32-6.

Gardner wasn’t the only NFL player who broke out a suplex on November 19. During the Seattle Seahawks’ game against the Los Angeles Rams, Seahawks cornerback Devon Weatherspoon suplexed receiver Austin Trammell. The referees flagged the play, and the commentary team wisely pointed out that you can’t suplex people in the NFL. The Rams went on to win the game 17-16.

Wrestling has popped up a few times throughout the 2023 season. A referee channeled The Undertaker by sitting up and throwing a flag. Plus, Dennis Gardeck did Daniel Garcia’s dance.
Outside of football, Draymond Green recently sparked some controversy when he used a sleeper hold on Rudy Gobert in the NBA. More information is available here.
