Amateur MMA Fighter Donshay White Passes Away
Amatuer MMA fighter Donshay White has passed away after a heavyweight division bout against Ricky Muse at Hardrock MMA 90.
According to Bluegrass MMA, the heavyweight bout was called a little over two minutes of round two after White was not properly defending himself from the striking barrage of Muse.
White appeared to be exhausted after the bout and was immediately given medical attention by the staff on hand. Despite the fact he made it backstage on his own power, the fighter collapsed once he got to the backstage area.
It was also the first time that the now deceased heavyweight competed in well over a year.
The medical staff on hand immediately started to do CPR to the collapsed fighter and then he was transported to the KentuckyOne Health Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. It is unclear if White passed away when he got to the hospital or in the ambulance during the ride to the hospital.
Another fighter by the name of Kalen Ray also needed medical attention after the fight and he was attended to by medical personnel as well, then transported to the same hospital as White. Ray would eventually make a full recovery.
Hardrock MMA promoters decided to cancel the remainder of their card after the ninth fight, due to the lack of medical personnel in the building following White’s passing and the Ray medical emergency.
