Warner Bros. Changes Course On John Cena’s ‘Coyote vs. Acme’, Will Allow Filmmakers To Shop The Movie

A big update has been provided on ‘Coyote vs. Acme’.

The ‘Coyote vs. Acme’ movie, which stars John Cena and Will Forte, was shelved by Warner Bros. on Thursday, November 9 despite being completed. The film was originally greenlit for the studio’s streaming service HBO Max back in December 2020. In a statement, a spokesperson for Warner Bros. said that they made the difficult decision to not move forward with the film due to the fact that they were focusing on theatrical releases. As a result of the decision, the studio was set to receive a $30M tax write-off.

On Monday, November 13, a new update surfaced from Puck News noting that the studio had reversed course on the situation, as they will now allow the filmmakers to shop the film to other studios such as Paramount and Universal, who are very interested in the film.
