Chris Jericho Makes Konosuke Takeshita Tap Out At DDT Pro-Wrestling Ultimate Party 2023
Chris Jericho arrived in DDT Pro-Wrestling to teach Konosuke Takeshita a lesson.
At DDT Ultimate Party 2023, Chris Jericho exacted a measure of revenge on the Don Callis family. In the battle of the Alphas where he took on Konosuke Takeshita, Jericho was able to make Takeshita, who came to the ring without Don Callis, in his own promotion, submit to the Walls of Jericho.
Despite, having appeared in Japan since 1991 for multiple promotions across many trips, this was Chris Jericho’s debut match in DDT Pro-Wrestling. Jericho tried to play heel during the match but many in the crowd cheered for him during the highly intense battle.
Post-match, Jericho thanked Genichiro Tenryu for being a mentor to him during his early days in Japan. He also said he would wrestle Takeshita 100 times in a row if he could.
“I just think he’s gaining more and more confidence because he knows who he is as a wrestler. That’s very important for any young wrestler to understand who you are as an athlete, as a showman, as an entertainer. That’s how you become a Main Event money-drawing professional wrestler, and now he knows who he is. He understands when to make big moves. I think it’s a cliche, but I think the sky’s the limit for him, and I would wrestle him 100 times in a row if I had the opportunity,” he said.

The last time Jericho wrestled in Japan it was for New Japan Pro-Wrestling. During his run in NJPW, Jericho was able to capture the IWGP Intercontinental Championship.
This is not the final battle between these two men by any means. On November 15, they will be on opposite ends of the Like A Dragon Street Fight. Chris Jericho will team with Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi, and Paul Wight against Takeshita, Kyle Fletcher, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Brian Cage, who will be on loan from the Mogul Embassy.
