Shingo Takagi On A Potential AEW Excursion: I’d Like To See Bryan Danielson And Mix It Up With Samoa Joe
Shingo Takagi talks about a potential AEW run.
Shingo Takagi is the currently NEVER Openweight Champion. He is slated to defend the gold against Trent Beretta at NJPW Lonestar Shootout on November 10, 2023. Trent is currently signed with AEW and in a new interview with Sports Illustrated, Takagi gives his thoughts on potentially going on a long-form AEW excursion.
Takagi noted that he would like to see Bryan Danielson inside the squared circle again and that he would look forward to stepping in the ring with Samoa Joe and Claudio Castagnoli as well.
“There are quite a few Japanese wrestlers doing their thing in AEW, aren’t there?” said Takagi. “I’d like to see Bryan Danielson again. Seeing him in the ring would be fine. I just missed Claudio Castagnoli and Samoa Joe when they were in ROH, so I’d like to mix it up with them sometime.”
Bryan Danielson gave his thoughts on potentially wrestling competing in a G1 Climax Tournament and perhaps being beyond that at this stage in his career. Read more at this link.
Danielson will be going to NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18 on January 4, 2024. On that night, he will once again wrestle Kazuchika Okada. Learn more here.
