Adam Cole and MJF won the ROH World Tag Team Championship together at AEW All In. Ahead of AEW WrestleDream, Cole went down with an ankle injury that required surgery. MJF retained the titles by himself at the pay-per-view. But at AEW Full Gear, he will team up with a mystery partner to defend the titles against The Gunns (Austin and Colten Gunn).
Cole took to Twitter/X on November 8 and sent a message to MJF by saying that it kills him that he can’t be there by his side. Cole made it clear that he has no doubt that MJF will rise to the occasion. He told MJF not to doubt how great he is, and he stated that the AEW World Champion can do it.

Cole’s post went up at 9:43 p.m. ET. A few minutes later, The Devil’s assailants took out MJF’s friends The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster) and Billy Gunn backstage. Fans have often speculated that Cole could be The Devil. Cole appeared on a video screen earlier on the show on November 8, so it seemed like he was not at the venue. For now, the identity of The Devil remains a mystery.
