The Laurel School District pays tribute to Jay Briscoe.
Jamin Pugh, also known as Jay Briscos in the wrestling world, lost his life in a car crash on January 17, 2023. He had a legendary wrestling career, as he was a 13-time ROH World Tag Team Champion and a two-time ROH World Champion, among other accolades. He was also a major part of his community, and he was known for helping those around him.
In a post on Facebook, the Laurel School District honored Pugh by announcing that the Laurel Middle School locker room will be renamed the “Jamin Pugh Locker Room” in honor of him.

Jamin Pugh is survived by his wife, Ashley, and their three children,as well as his brother, Mark.
Mark and Jay Briscoe were one of the top tag teams of their generation; they held the ROH World Tag Team Championship 13 times, and they were inducted into the ROH Hall of Fame. The duo also held the tag team titles in IMPACT and NJPW, and they won the Crockett Cup in 2022.
