HollyHood Haley J Says She Couldn’t Get Cleared For WWE Tryout Due To Epilepsy
WWE held tryouts in Orlando at the WWE Performance Center in September with independent and up-and-coming talent taking part in the tryout.
HollyHood Haley J was reportedly listed as participating in the tryout, but it was later reported by Fightful Select that she was pulled from the WWE tryouts due to reasons related to medical paperwork, per WWE and OVW sources. Fightful Select was told that WWE is hopeful that they can get her in the future.
Speaking on Cafe De Rene with Rene Dupree, Haley J revealed her doctor wouldn’t clear her due to epilepsy.
“I have epilepsy and my doctor is not trying to clear me to wrestle. My doctor. Of course, they were like, ‘we need a clearance letter.’ My doctor was like, ‘No.’ I’m in the process of finding another doctor to get a second opinion. I haven’t had a seizure in over six years. Been off medication for four, been wrestling for almost four years, haven’t had any issues. I don’t know why they won’t work with me. Waiting on a second opinion. Then, I should be right back up at the top where I belong,” she said.
Haley J noted that she hasn’t had a seizure since she started smoking weed, and that is her current medication. Haley J became one of the most talked about wrestlers following the premiere of “Wrestlers” on Netflix.
She is the reigning OVW Women’s Champion.
