Here is your fight size update for WWE Friday Night SmackDown and AEW Rampage on Friday, October 13, 2023.

WWE SmackDown

– Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso successfully defended the titles against Austin Theory and Grayson Waller.  Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa confronted the champions after the bell. Roman Reigns walked onto the stage and got in Cody Rhodes’ face.

– Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson) returned to the ring, as Prince made his full recovery from injury. They faced the Brawling Brutes (Ridge Holland and Butch).The two teams battled back and forth. Prince seemingly suffered an injury in the bout, but it was a ruse, as he used it as a distraction and pinned Holland for the win.

– LA Knight faced Solo Sikoa. Jimmy Uso tried to interfere, but John Cena took him out. Knight capitalized and hit the BFT for the win. 

– Roman Reigns floored LA Knight with a Spear after the main event. Reigns then posed over Knight.

– John Cena kicked off SmackDown and was quickly interrupted by Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, and Paul Heyman. Reigns said Cena only showed up because he took his leave. He called himself the greatest of all time. Reigns told Cena to leave, or they would make him leave. Cena responded by saying he was there to acknowledge Reigns and praised him for his remarkable reign. He said he hadn’t earned a shot, but he knew someone who had. LA Knight came out and confronted Reigns. Reigns said he had done things Knight couldn’t even imagine. He asked Knight who he thought he was. Knight called himself the fastest-rising star in SmackDown history. Jimmy Uso attacked Knight, and Knight fought back. Reigns left the ring and told Sikoa to handle it. Knight challenged Sikoa to a match. 

– Carlito was interviewed about his return. Bobby Lashley approached him and welcomed him back. Carlito suggested that his first match back should be against Lashley. The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) attacked Carlito from behind.

– Bayley and Zelina Vega got into an argument, and Adam Pearce booked a match between the two. IYO SKY distracted Vega, and Bayley pinned her for the win. SKY and Bayley attacked Vega after the bell, but Charlotte Flair made the save.

– Roman Reigns told Jimmy Uso that every day that Jey Uso had the tag titles was a slap in the face. 

Triple H came to the ring and said WWE was on its way to Crown Jewel and Survivor Series. He said he wanted to call attention to Adam Pearce, one of the unsung heroes of WWE. Triple H thanked Pearce and promoted him to the general manager of WWE RAW. Dominik Mysterio interrupted and said The Judgment Day got screwed out of their titles. Triple H said Dominik needed to complain to the new general manager of SmackDown, and he revealed that was Nick Aldis.

– Aldis came out and expressed his gratitude. He told Pearce he looked forward to some friendly competition. Aldis introduced Kevin Owens as the newest member of WWE SmackDown. Owens dropped Dominik with a Stunner.

– WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Chelsea Green and Piper Niven approached Nick Aldis, but Charlotte Flair interrupted. Aldis announced that Flair will challenge IYO SKY for the WWE Women’s Championship on the October 20 episode of SmackDown. Flair then met Jade Cargill, and Triple H introduced them.

Adam Pearce commented on being named the new general manager of WWE Raw.

Kevin Owens shared his thoughts following his move to SmackDown.

– Nick Aldis discussed his debut and booked a match between Santos Escobar and Montez Ford for October 20.

– Paul Heyman commented on Roman Reigns’ return.

AEW Rampage

– Ortiz discussed his budding feud with Mike Santana. Santana interrupted, and tensions rose. Santana asked Ortiz where he was while he was out hurt.

– Skye Blue defeated Emi Sakura.

– Thanks to some interference from Jake Hager, Daniel Garcia, Angelo Parker and Matt Menard defeated The Hardys (Matt and Jeff Hardy) and Brother Zay. Menard scolded Garcia after the match and walked away.

Tony Khan responded to a press release from CMLL and expressed his excitement about working with them.

– Penta El Zero Miedo was confronted by Bullet Club Gold (Jay White, Juice Robinson, and The Gunns). Penta called White a thief, but “Switchblade” said he earned the gold. White said Penta would get his moment in the spotlight next week.

– Backstage, Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard, and Angelo Parker commented on his win. Menard said he couldn’t stand Garcia’s dancing. Parker tried to defuse the tension, but Menard remained frustrated. Jake Hager told them to squash the issue.

– Jay Lethal defeated Trent Beretta. 

Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta of Blackpool Combat Club defeated The Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona).

– Mike Santana sent Ortiz a heated message.
