Alex Shelley Drops Josh Alexander, Athena Retains, Minion Training Resumes | IMPACT x ROH Fight Size

Here is your fight size update following IMPACT and ROH Wrestling on Thursday, October 5, 2023.

Below are highlights from both Thursday night wrestling shows.

IMPACT Wrestling  

– In the main event of IMPACT, Josh Alexander defeated Kon. Alex Shelley was on commentary for this match and was accidentally struck by his IMPACT Bound For Glory opponent. He would eventually get back at Alexander by dropping him with Shell Shock. 

– Chris Sabin addressed KENTA via a vignette 

– There was a video package promoting the IMPACT Knockouts World Championship match for Bound For Glory between Mickie James and Trinity. Trinity was interviewed by Gia Miller after the video, and she said that she appreciated Mickie James but was focused on maintaining her championship at Bound For Glory. 

– Moose defeated Bhupinder Gujjar. After the match, Steve Maclin approached Moose and Brian Myers. Maclin claimed that the Feast or Fired Briefcase Moose was carrying belonged to him, but Moose only got it because of Rhino. Maclin requested the briefcase, but Moose refused, believing it was an elaborate scheme by Bully Ray. Maclin denied this, claiming that Bully Ray had “gone soft.” PCO arrived and attacked Brian Myers. Steve Maclin reached it to the ramp before being attacked by Rhino with a Gore. 

– Crazzy Steve stabbed Tommy Dreamer and will now face Black Taurus in a No DQ Match in two weeks

– In a preview of the Call Your Shot Gauntlet, Eric Young, Jordynne Grace, Dango, Champagne Singh, & Jake Something defeated Mahabali Shera, KiLynn King, Jody Threat, Brian Myers & Bully Ray. 

– Ace Austin & Chris Bey defeated John Skyler and his partner for the evening, Jai Vidal in a Fans’ Revenge Strap Match. Now, ABC focuses on their Tag Team Championship opportunity at Bound For Glory. 

– The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz) defaced the IMPACT Tag Titles tonight

–  Jonathan Gresham justified his cheating against Mike Bailey by claiming he intended to demonstrate the ineptitude of the referees. Mike Bailey confronted Gresham and asked him what he was doing, but Gresham walked out.

Ring of Honor 

– Athena turned back yet another challenger, defeating Leyla Hirsch. 

– Billie Starkz was able to convince Athena not to attack Hirsch after the match. Maria Kanellis-Bennett, who has been trying to recruit Leyla Hirsch to her growing stable just watched on from the ramp. 

– Speaking of Billie, she defeated Trish Adora. She also continued with her minion training. 

– Tony Nese was a brave man tonight and tried to take on Satoshi Kojima and Bread. He lost. Long live the bread. 

– Eddie Kingston opened the show with some words after defeating Katsuyori Shibata at AEW WrestleDream. 

– Fred Rosser made his Ring of Honor debut tonight in a losing effort to Scorpio Sky 

– Lexy Nair interviewed Ethan Page backstage. After learning that ROH Champion Eddie Kingston was keeping his eyes on Page, Page requested that everyone keep an eye on Kingston before declaring that he was ready to face Kingston at any time.

– TMDK, Willow Nightingale, Skye Blue, Kiera Hogan, and Josh Woods are all names that picked up wins on October 5.

– TV Gets Better When Dalton Castle Is On It!

– Rocky Romero also picked up a victory over Christopher Daniels.
