Jade Cargill Feels Starting In AEW Was A Blessing, ‘I Would Have Never Gotten Better Anywhere Else’
Jade Cargill comments on getting her start in AEW.
Jade Cargill was thrust into the wrestling spotlight immediately upon her debut, confronting Cody Rhodes in her first promo and teaming with Shaquille O’Neal in her first match. Both segments happened in front of zero fans during the pandemic.
Before joining AEW, Cargill did have a WWE tryout, but wasn’t signed.
Speaking to People, Cargill discussed her start in wrestling.
“If you would have told me about three years ago that I was going to be a professional wrestler, I would have probably burst out laughing,” she said. “I feel like it was a blessing (starting in AEW). I would have never got a better start anywhere else.”
Cargill went on to have a successful career in AEW, becoming the first-ever AEW TBS Champion and putting together a 50-match undefeated streak. She left AEW in September after her contract expired and signed a multi-year deal with WWE.
“I feel like I’m walking into a new light,” Cargill says. “AEW prepared me. It prepared me to have thick and tough skin. If I would have been a part of such a machine like WWE at a younger age, I would have probably been in my head so much – so much – but because I’ve worn several hats in this life and I’ve already been thrown in the fire, so it’s just prepared me for these moments.”
It is unknown when Cargill will make her WWE TV debut, but she has her signing has been hyped on WWE TV.
She will reportedly be at WWE Fastlane.
