Damage CTRL celebrate IYO SKY’s win.

On the September 22 episode of WWE SmackDown, IYO SKY defeated Asuka to retain the WWE Women’s Championship. Before the match, Charlotte Flair came to ringside. She got involved when Bayley interfered, and “The Queen” dropped the former champion. SKY then pinned Asuka with her signature Moonsault to clinch the win.

In a SmackDown Exclusive, Damage CTRL (IYO SKY, Bayley, and Dakota Kai) shared their thoughts following IYO’s win.

IYO SKY: Oh my gosh, I’m so happy because I beat Asuka.

Dakota Kai: She wasn’t ready.

Bayley: She wasn’t ready for herself.

When asked about Charlotte Flair’s decision to get involved, Bayley noted that they couldn’t escape Flair, She stated that the title match had nothing to do with her. Bayley also quipped that Flair was a 20,000-time champion, and she claimed that Flair has been obsessed with her since NXT.

Bayley: Gosh, we cannot escape her, huh? We’re trying to celebrate IYO and her huge victory over Asuka, and you have to talk about Charlotte. We were trying to have a perfectly good, safe, fair championship match, and Charlotte had to come out. She has nothing to do with it. Dude, do. Dude, do not get me riled up again, okay? She just shows her face whenever there’s a championship around. It was IYO versus Asuka. It was ‘The Empress’ versus ‘The Genius’, but Charlotte Flair, 20,000-time champion, okay? She got something to say, you know what? Next week, we’re gonna solve it, right. We’re gonna figure it out. We’re gonna figure out why is she showing up every single [time]. She’s o obsessed with me. She’s been obsessed with me since NXT.

DK: I think so. A lot of years.

Kai then said it’s time for Bayley to shut Flair up, and Bayley agreed. She stated that they would celebrate SKY and shut Flair up.

Bayley will face Charlotte Flair on the September 29 episode of WWE SmackDown. Check out the card here.
