Sam Vallely Gives Update On Progress Of Ultra Pro Wrestling

An update on Ultra Pro Wrestling.

Ultra Pro Wrestling is an upcoming wrestling game developed by Hyperfocus Games. The game utilizes a system similar to the classic N64 games like WWF No Mercy. Matt Cardona, Arn Anderson, Bull Nakano, and more have been announced for the game.

Speaking to WrestleZone, lead developer Sam Vallely gave an update on how things are progressing.

“A lot of work has been made on the animations. That’s probably the one area that’s the biggest job in terms of how long that’s going to take overall. We were doing some numbers recently looking at the animations, and yeah, it’s going to be tight with the sheer number of animations we have to do. That’s just the base ones, that’s not even the ones we want to create on top of that. Just getting all the base ones down, that in itself is going to take a long time.”

“This is one of the reasons we’re going back to Pateron and asking for funding as well. If we can speed up the development of animations, if we can get more people to help us with that, that will make everything else a lot more easier. Everything else outside of the animations, it’s mostly me that’s doing that, programming and all that kind of stuff. Hopefully, in the next three months or so, I’m thinking we’ll get all the programming done for the actual gameplay mechanics. Then it’s kind of up in there whether or not I want to go and help out with the animation stuff and do some of that, or whether I want to go and expand on the create a wrestler aspect. We’ll see how long it takes with the next couple of months doing the programming.”

Elsewhere during the interview, Vallely discussed potential DLC and waiting on WWE legends contracts to expire. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
