Eddy Thorpe and Dijak have been feuding for several weeks. Dijak has scored two victories over Thorpe, but he hit him with a loaded glove to score one win. On the September 12 episode of WWE NXT, Dijak desecrated Thorpe’s sacred land as he beat a tree with a belt. He also told Thorpe to tap into his wild side.
On the September 19 episode of WWE NXT, Thorpe responded to Dijak. He noted that he knew Dijak meant that he was a savage, and he admitted that he might have a savage within. Thorpe then challenged Dijak to face him in a Strap Match, but he did not name the place for the potential bout.

WWE subsequently confirmed that Dijak will face Eddy Thorpe in a Strap Match on the September 26 episode of WWE NXT.
