Kazuchika Okada: I Don’t Give A Damn About IMPACT, I Hated TNA
Kazuchika Okada remembers.
In 2010 and 2011, Kazuchika Okada traveled to America to work for TNA/IMPACT. The trip did not go well for Okada as he wasn’t used to the standard he and NJPW expected. The use of Okada soured the relationship between NJPW and TNA for years.
Things are now better between IMPACT and NJPW, but Okada remembers how things went.
“IMPACT Wrestling? Give me a break. There’s not a promotion I hate more in this world! But I was a pretty big Motor City fan back in the day. A little while back, we faced them in a tag three-way. I know exactly how good they are, but this is a three-on-three NEVER six-man match, and we’re walking in champions. Being the face of NJPW, I can say that I hate…Actually, I don’t give a damn about IMPACT. Who I really hated was TNA,” he said before walking off in a backstage interview.
Okada is set to team with Hiroshi Tanahashi & Tomohiro Ishii to defend the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Titles against Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, & Josh Alexander at NJPW Destruction In Ryogoku.
Okada & Tanahashi teamed at NJPW Capital Collision to face Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) and Motor City Machine Guns (Sabin & Shelley).
