The Kingdom (Mike Bennett, Matt Taven, and Maria Kanellis-Bennett) signed multi-year contracts with AEW in October 2022. Before that, they had a prominent run in IMPACT, and they had also been featured in the previous regime of ROH. The trio has been part of the new ROH since its weekly TV show returned in March. Bennett and Taven have also been part of Roderick Strong’s storyline with Adam Cole on AEW TV.
Bennett took to social media to note that he dreamed of being a pro wrestler when he was a kid. He stated that working for AEW is the closest he has ever felt to living out what that dream felt like. Bennett expressed his gratitude to the fans, the people, the talent, and the process, as well as the locker room culture. He stated that he loves his job, and he feels lucky.

On the September 15 episode of AEW Rampage, Bennett and Taven defeated Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal. After the match, Bennett advocated for Neck Health Awareness Month. More information is available here.
