Here is your fight size update for WWE Friday Night SmackDown and AEW Rampage on Friday, September 15, 2023.

WWE SmackDown

– LA Knight defeated The Miz In a post-match promo, LA Knight made it clear that he’s coming for the gold, no matter who holds it.

– Asuka faced Bayley. Shotzi appeared at ringside, and the distraction helped Asuka emerge victorious. 

– Finn Balor faced AJ Styles. Damian Priest interfered during the bout. Styles took the fight to Dominik when he tried to get involved. Jimmy Uso came out and distracted Styles, and Balor capitalized by pinning Styles for the win.

– Pat McAfee made his return, and when Austin Theory interrupted, The Rock came out to electrify the WWE Universe. After a confrontation with Theory, The Rock hit him with a Spinebuster and the People’s Elbow. McAfee also hit Theory with a People’s Elbow.

– John Cena hugged The Rock backstage and welcomed him home.

Rey Mysterio agreed to give Santos Escobar a shot at the WWE United States Championship.

– Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford defeated Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde. After the match, Lashley and Rey Mysterio stared each other down, and Dawkins dropped the legend.

Michael Cole noted that Luke Gallows was injured

– Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson) appeared backstage, and Adam Pearce said they’ll be back in the ring in no time.

– Grayson Waller hosted The Grayson Waller Effect with John Cena as his guest. He insulted Cena, and Jimmy Uso interrupted. Uso told Cena nobody wanted him there. Solo Sikoa came out and attacked Cena, but AJ Styles made the save.

Pat McAfee commented on his return.

The wrestling world reacted to The Rock’s return.

– Triple H shared a picture with Pat McAfee and The Rock.

– Bayley expressed her frustration after her loss.

– Santos Escobar and Rey Mysterio looked forward to getting revenge on Angelo Dawkin and Montez Ford.

– Kit Wilson said it’s nearly time to “tag back in.”

– Denver Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain discussed his WWE fandom.

AEW Rampage

– Swerve Strickland challenged The Elite (The Young Bucks and Adam Page) to face Mogul Embassy (Brian Cage and Gates of Agony) at Grand Slam.

– Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis) dominated Lord Crewe and Damian Chambers. 

– On QTV, Johnny TV commented on QT Marshall’s absence, and Harley Cameron nearly stabbed someone.

Kris Statlander defeated Jade Cargill to retain the TBS Championship.

– The Lucha Brothers (Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo) and The Hardys (Matt and Jeff Hardy) beat Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett, The Butcher and The Blade. Satnam Singh attacked The Hardys after the bell. The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch) came out and stood over The Hardys.

– Britt Baker set her sights on the TBS Championship.

– The Kingdom (Mike Bennett and Matt Taven) defeated Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal. After the match, Matt Taven made it clear that they wanted the ROH World Tag Team Championship, while Mike Bennett highlighted the importance of Neck Health Awareness Month.

– The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Cater) and Billy Gunn defeated Peter Avalon and The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd and Truth Magnum).

– Anthony Bowens agreed to face a member of Dark Order (Evil Uno, John Silver, and Alex Reynolds) after the trio confronted him, Caster, and Gunn.

Darby Allin and Sting will face Christian Cage and Luchasaurus on AEW Rampage: Grand Slam.

– Britt Baker looked forward to her return to Penn State.
