On September 16, 2023, All Elite Wrestling hosted a new episode of AEW Collision on TNT.
The show was headlined by Kris Statlander defending her TBS Title against Britt Baker & FTR facing Iron Savages for the AEW Tag Team Championships. Full results are listed below.
AEW Collision (9/16/2023).
- Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli, Big Bill, Ricky Starks, Britt Baker, Kris Statlander, John Silver & Anthony Bowes cut promos in the cold open of the show before transitioning into the opening match.
- Ricky Starks & Big Bill def. Blackpool Combat Club (Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli).
- The finish came when Starks hit low blow on Danielson, finishing the sequence by hitting the Roshambo on Danielson for the pinfall win.
- “Hangman” Adam Page & The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) cut a promo backstage accepting The Mogul Embassy’s challenge for Grand Slam but then stated that they wanted the ROH Six-Man Tag Titles with that too. The Match was set for the 9/22 edition of AEW Rampage Grand Slam.
- Powerhouse Hobbs had a vignette backstage, saying that in the new chapter of “The Book of Hobbs”, no one is safe.
- Miro had a vignette in response to Powerhouse Hobbs before throwing a rant to god for bringing his “Hot Flexible Wife” (CJ Perry) back into the fold when he was at his weakest. Miro said that if anyone did not want to get redeemed, he would send them god’s way in a box.
- AEW World Tag Team Championship – Open Challenge: FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) vs. Iron Savages (Bronson & Boulder) (w/ Jacked Jameson).
- After the match, The WorkHorsemen (JD Drake & Anthony Henry) confronted FTR to challenge them to a match, which they accepted.
- Keith Lee was interviewed backstage by Lexy Nair, but was immediately interrupted by STP (Shane Taylor & Lee Moriarty). Taylor challenged Lee to a match, which Lee accepted.
- John Silver (w/ Alex Reynolds & Evil of Dark Order) def. Anthony Bowens (w/ “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn & Max Caster).
- Eddie Kingston cut a promo backstage ahead of his match against Claudio Castagnoli at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam. Kingston stated his issues with Castagnoli began when he did “not do business”, saying that Castagnoli left pot holes in the road man had built up. Kingston said that he tried to “fix” the issue, but he believed that Grand Slam would be it. Kingston said that New York was always with him and said that Castagnoli was out of his f**king mind if Kingston would be pinned. Kingston praised Claudio for being a great wrester, but said that he was not built to handle “the misery” before stating the final words: “I’m gonna fuck you up motherfucker”.
- Orange Cassidy & HOOK were interviewed by Renee Paquette backstage, with Cassidy & HOOK agreeing to tag on AEW Grand Slam.
- Aussie Open (Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher) def. Wes Barkely & Pretty Boy Smooth.
- After the match, Aussie Open called their shot at the AEW Tag Team Championships before challenging FTR for the belts for AEW WrestleDream.
- RJ City had a sit-down interview with Toni Storm. Storm stated that the only thing that had changed was the business, but she was still the same. Regarding the state of the AEW Women’s Division, Storm then stated the following: “I thought this was a company, not a charity”.
- Scorpio Sky had a promo ahead of his match against Andrade, where he stated that he was back in AEW to be a top guy.
- Andrade El Idolo def. Scorpio Sky.
- After the match, Bullet Club Gold (Jay White, Juice Robinson, Colten Gunn & Austin Gunn) confronted Andrade. White then challenged Andrade to a match for next week. White & Andrade tried to get a brawl going, but an army of referees stopped Andrade.
- There was a video package detailing the history of The Golden Lovers (Kenny Omega & Kota Ibushi) narrated by Ian Riccaboni after Don Callis stated that Don Callis & Konosuke Takeshita were coming for Ibushi at the 9/13 edition of AEW Dynamite.
- Tony Schiavone interviewed the ROH Pure Champion Katsuyori Shibata. Shibata stated that he was coming to AEW WrestleDream, but it was announced that he would face Nick Wayne on the 9/21/2023 edition of Ring of Honor TV.
- The Righteous (Vincent & Dutch) def. The Hardys (Matt & Jeff Hardy).
- After the match, Vincent & Dutch cut a promo. Vincent said that he “did not believe in the devil” before he & Dutch called their shot at the ROH Tag Team Championships.
- There was a backstage promo of Claudio Castagnoli calling out Eddie Kingston, where he promised to beat Kingston again and for one final time at AEW Arthur Ashe.
- Tony Schiavone interviewed FTR backstage. FTR said that they accepted The WorkHorsemen’s challenge next week for the Tag Titles, but did promise that they will face Aussie Open on AEW WrestleDream with the belts or not.
- There was a video package promoting the Match between Zack Sabre Jr & Bryan Danielson for AEW WrestleDream.
- Big Bill & Ricky Starks were interviewed, with Starks challenging Bryan Danielson to a Texas Death Match for next week.
- TBS Championship Match: Kris Statlander (c) def. Dr. Britt Baker DMD.
- Julia Hart watched the match from the crowd.
