Wade Barrett Was Beginning To Give Up Believing He’d Return To WWE Video Games Before WWE 2K23

Wade Barrett was losing hope that he would ever be featured in another WWE video game.

Wade Barrett returned to WWE NXT in 2020 but did not make his return to video games until WWE 2K23 when he was included as part of the Bad News U DLC pack.

Appearing on the Even Stronger podcast with Kazeem Famuyide, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion explained why his return to video games is the cherry on top of his comeback.

“I ain’t going to lie. It feels great. I got back with WWE as a commentator in NXT about three years ago, and my immediate thought was, ‘Oh, this is awesome. They’re gonna get me back into video games.’ It didn’t happen in 2020. It didn’t happen in 2021. It didn’t happen in 2022. I kind of gave up, and then I got word about six months ago, ‘No, we’re bringing you back.’ So, the last time I was in the game was 2016. I kinda left the company under a bit of a dark cloud at the time. I wasn’t enjoying myself in WWE, and I had to move on for a little while, but it’s night and day now, and I’ve loved being back. It’s exciting. It’s a great environment. I think the product is booming. The fans are happy. When does that ever happen? The fans are happy! To be back in the video game, that really is the cherry on top of the cake. So I’m thrilled to be back involved,” he said.

While he’s glad to be back in the video games, Wade Barrett has no desire to step back in the squared circle, especially not with Gunther. Learn more here
