Trinity looks back on her first match in IMPACT Wrestling.
Trinity, formerly known as Naomi, debuted on the May 4 episode of IMPACT Wrestling. Her first match with the company aired on the May 18 episode, and she faced KiLynn King. Since then, she has become one of IMPACT’s top stars. Trinity defeated Deonna Purrazzo to win the IMPACT Knockouts World Championship at IMPACT Slammiversary.
In an interview with SportsKeeda’s Kevin Kellam, Trinity was asked to name the opponent she has had the most magic with in the ring, and she pointed to KiLynn King.
“KiLynn King. I had my debut match in IMPACT with her, and I just felt like that was so special and magical. I was so nervous and so scared after being off a year and having shoulder surgery. There was so much doubt within myself. But when I got in there with her, it was easy, and it was fun. I was like, ‘Wow. This is what it’s supposed to be and feel like.’ I cried after that match because it felt so good, and that’s how wrestling should feel. I was very happy that I had her as my opponent on my return,” Trinity said.
Trinity also reflected on her journey with IMPACT Wrestling and made it clear that she is happy. She referenced the challenges that came with the end of her run in WWE and expressed her gratitude for the opportunity IMPACT is giving her. Trinity also noted that she is having the time of her life.
“I’m super grateful and super happy. It’s been such a journey, this last year or year and a half for me now. But I’m super happy. I can’t complain. I’m grateful for this platform and IMPACT giving me the space and opportunity to continue on with my wrestling journey and to kind of reestablish myself after all that had been said and all that had happened. So I’ll forever be grateful for that, and I’m having the time of my life right now,” Trinity said.
Trinity recently expressed her interest in facing Melina. Check out her comments here.
At IMPACT Victory Road, Trinity will defend the IMPACT Knockouts World Championship against Alisha Edwards. Check out the card here. Fightful will have live coverage of the show as it airs on September 8.
