Report: Ace Steel Released By AEW
All Elite Wrestling has reportedly released Ace Steel.
Ace Steel has once again been let go by AEW, according to a report by Mike Johnson of PWInsider. Steel had been working as a producer remotely after being rehired by AEW in the lead-up to the inaugural episode of AEW Saturday Collision.
Steel had previously been fired by AEW following AEW All Out 2022 and his role in the altercation between Punk and The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, & Nick Jackson), where he reportedly threw a chair and bit Omega. Upon his return, AEW decided that Steel would not be permitted to work on-site for Collision events. As a result, he held a remote position as CM Punk’s producer.
Ace Steel is the man who trained CM Punk and Colt Cabana. He also previously held a role as a coach at the WWE Performance Center. Steel did appear on AEW television in the lead-up to AEW All Out 2022, motivating CM Punk ahead of his AEW World Championship match against Jon Moxley.
CM Punk’s wrestler and employee contracts were recently terminated by All Elite Wrestling following a backstage incident that occurred at AEW All In in London, England. When making the announcement of CM Punk’s termination on the September 2 episode of Saturday Collision, AEW President Tony Khan stated that “he feared for his life.” Learn more here.
