Cage signed with AEW in 2021 and returned to the ring years after he was forced to retire in WWE. During his time with the company, he has been a featured member of the roster. In recent months, he has been paired with Luchasaurus, and he helped the big man win the TNT Championship.
At the AEW All Out post-show press conference, AEW CEO Tony Khan highlighted how signing Cage was a big move for AEW. Cage then claimed that he had been re-signed to a new deal.
“It might have been some of you people who said I wasn’t worth the hype. I think I’ve proved you all wrong now. I know I proved Tony Khan right because he just re-signed me to a big fat contract. He opened the vault for me and I deserve every single penny that I got,” Cage said.
At AEW All Out, Cage helped Luchasaurus defeat Darby Allin to retain the TNT Championship.
