Jim Ross Says Steve Austin Is Working On New Projects, Jokes That He Doesn’t Want A Job
Jim Ross recently talked to Steve Austin.
Jim Ross and Steve Austin have a long history and are not only tied together in the world of wrestling, but are great friends outside of wrestling. Ross remains active in the wrestling business as part of AEW while Austin recently wrapped up his “Stone Cold Takes On America” series on A&E.
Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Ross recalled a recent conversation he had with Austin.
“I also got a phone call from Stone Cold. He’s good, he doesn’t want a job. He’s working on some new projects. He’s getting into some kind of…he’s going to start racing, they look like the stuff you go deer hunting and things like that. He’s looking to do some racing. Everything is equated to the wrestling business, he says, ‘I know I’m green, but just like wrestling, I wasn’t worth a shit when I was trained by Chris Adams, but I kept working and learning. Now I have kids who are 12 and have been racing since they were six that I have to compete with.’ He’s enjoying life, he’s healthy and feels good. He didn’t watch the London show. He doesn’t watch any wrestling, hardly. Every now and then, you’ll see him online making a comment about something topical, but he’s not watching any new content. That’s not his thing anymore,” said Ross.
Austin last wrestled at WrestleMania 38, competing in the main event of night one against Kevin Owens.
Elsewhere during the podcast, Ross commented on a recent conversation he had with Jerry Lawler. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
