Adam Cole Didn’t Think Team With MJF Would Be As Popular As It Is, ‘It’s Taken On A Life Of Its Own’

Adam Cole discusses the popularity of his story with MJF.

The two have been involved in a story since June, where they had a promo battle with one another. Only a week later, Cole and MJF wrestled to a time limit draw, leading many fans to expect that the feud was going to be drawn out over many months.

Instead, Cole and MJF were blindly paired together in the Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament only a week later. After picking up some steam, the two began to bond and eventually became best friends, much to the approval of the AEW fanbase.

MJF recently awarded Cole with another shot at the AEW World Championship. The bout is set to main event the historic AEW All In show on Sunday, June 27. This match is heavily anticipated, as many fans have said that the storyline between Cole and MJF is one of the best in company history.

In a new interview with Under The Ring, Cole was asked if he ever thought his storyline with MJF would reach the level of popularity that it is currently at.

“No. I was really hoping that people were going to be excited about it, I know quite a few people had talked about Adam Cole vs. MJF being something they wanted to see, so I was hoping that people were going to be invested and excited about it. But, the attachment to the team itself? Not in a million years did I think it was going to be this popular. Like I said, I thought people were going to have some fun with it but it’s wild. It’s taken on a life of its own and it’s been so much fun, so much fun.”

MJF recently took to social media and celebrated the success of AEW, WWE, and the professional wrestling industry in general. Fans can learn more by clicking here.
