Hiromu Takahashi Wants To Defend IWGP Junior Title On AEW TV, Would Like To Face Darby Allin

Hiromu Takahashi was unable to compete at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2022 due to a fever and his bout at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023 was on the pre-show with only one signed AEW talent (Kyle Fletcher) participating.

Takahashi is one of the most decorated junior wrestlers in NJPW history and he’d like to get a proper AEW bout.

“A dream of mine is to have a match on live prime time TV,” said Takahashi in an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated. “I’d be stoked to wrestle in AEW any time and defend the IWGP junior heavyweight title there. Last year, I was supposed to team up with Darby Allin and Sting. So I want to team up with Sting rather than wrestle him. Wrestling someone? That would be Darby.”

Takahashi was scheduled to team with Sting, Darby Allin, & Shingo Takagi at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2022 before he missed the event with a fever.

Hiromu will team with Rocky Romero in a ladder match at All Star Junior Festival. You can find the current lineup for the show by clicking here.
