Wes Lee Earns NXT Title Shot Set For NXT Heatwave After Eddy Thorpe Distracts DIJAK On 8/15 WWE NXT
Wes Lee owes his biggest opportunity yet to the help of Eddy Thorpe.
Lee was in the middle of a major match with DIJAK on August 15, and both men were being pushed to their very limits when Eddy Thorpe arrived and distracted DIJAK long enough for Wes Lee to take advantage, drop him with a flipping back kick and a Spiral Tap for the victory, punching his ticket to NXT Heatwave and a match against Carmelo Hayes for the WWE NXT Championship.
Thorpe and DIJAK have had issues stemming back to Thorpe defeating Damon Kemp in an NXT Underground match and the former T-BAR taking umbrage with the fact that Thorpe was considered to be one of the toughest stars in NXT.
