Kevin Owens Discusses His Future In Wrestling, Finding Enjoyment On Commentary And Helping Others
Kevin Owens comments on his in-ring future.
Kevin Owens’ WWE contract is up at the end of December 2024, and while he’s previously said that he wants to be involved in WWE and knows he has a place in the company, he doesn’t know where that place is exactly.
Speaking to Ariel Helwani of TNT Sports, Owens gave further comment regarding his future, and explained how he’s found in enjoyment in helping others.
“If you had asked me this six months ago, I think I would have said, ‘I could see myself wrestling five or ten more years.’ The last few months of that, I feel it’s changed. I might still wrestle for five or ten more years, but I wonder if there’s not a place for me somewhere else, another role, as opposed to being in the ring. I definitely don’t see myself away from the wrestling business anytime soon. I get such enjoyment out of doing commentary. I get so much enjoyment out of helping other people with their stuff and seeing it work or trying to analyze why it didn’t work and figuring out how to do it better. I could probably do both for a while. I know I have a year and a half left on my contract as a performer here, for sure. I don’t know how I’m going to feel at the end of that contract. I love wrestling. I love being in the ring. Part of it is, the last two years have been so amazing. How am I going to top it? I don’t really have to top it because I’ve been trying not to wonder what’s next and what’s next week. At the same time, as much as I’m enjoying my time in the ring, I can feel it. I had a talk with Triple H about it. ‘I think I’m getting more out of helping other people than my own stuff.’ He goes, ‘Yeah, that happened to me.’ I don’t know. I say this now and might still be doing it in five years. I have no clue,” said Owens.
Owens was taken out by Judgment Day on the July 24 episode of WWE Raw and is reportedly dealing with an injury.
Elsewhere during the interview, Owens commented on how he was feeling not being on the WrestleMania 35 card. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
